My Experience

I am a psychologist licensed in Pennsylvania. I have treated academic related issues, trauma related symptoms, relationships, immigration, race, class, culture, sexuality and gender and intersectional identity concerns. I can conduct therapy in both Korean and English. I have been trained in various settings including residential clinics, outpatient hospitals, and competitive liberal arts college counseling centers.

My early training experiences were more focused on evidence-based treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Functional Analysis, and trauma focused CBT, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have added significant years of psychoanalytic training. I flexibly utilize many different treatment strategies based on clients’ needs. I also provide supervision services for clinicians. I look forward to hearing from you – contact me to set up a  consultation.

Originally a registered nurse, I earned a PhD in Clinical Developmental Psychology at Bryn Mawr College where my dissertation was on mindfulness and heart rate variability.  I served my pre doctoral internships and post doctoral residency at a variety of settings, including two elementary schools, a residential program for youths, an outpatient psychiatric hospital, and two college counseling centers. Since 2011, I have served as a senior psychologist at Swarthmore College Counseling and Psychological Services, where I provide therapy and testing for students, and supervision for pre & post doctoral interns. I have also obtained additional education at the Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia and I am licensed to provide both psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in addition to being a licensed school psychologist.
